Project Finished:

At Bergman Construction, we’re proud to deliver projects that leave a lasting impact on the communities we serve. This project brought a brand-new restaurant to life on a full-site development, featuring a2,350-square-foot main dining building with a full-service kitchen, drive-thru, customer patio, new trash enclosure, and complete site landscaping. From concept to completion, our team delivered a true turnkey experience for the client.

Like many fast-paced restaurant developments, schedule was the biggest challenge. City approvals and the installation of permanent gas and power created a few unexpected delays along the way. Our team stayed proactive and committed, working weekends whenever possible to maintain momentum and keep the project moving forward. Through consistent coordination and problem-solving, we were able to minimize impacts and keep the client informed every step of the way.

A project of this scale requires strong leadership and teamwork. Superintendent Greg Weeger exemplified Bergman’s standard of excellence by keeping all trade partners on track while maintaining a strong daily focus on jobsite safety. We were also proud to partner with Phoenix Glass Company, whose efficient execution and high-quality storefront installation helped elevate the finished product, along with EG Construction, whose responsiveness and collaborative approach made them a pleasure to work with.

Beyond the building itself, this project plays an important role in revitalizing the surrounding plaza and bringing new energy to the area. It stands as a reflection of what can be accomplished through strong partnerships, clear communication, and a shared commitment to excellence.

This project reinforced an important lesson for our team: communication is everything. With multiple stakeholders involved, including the client, landlord, landlord’s GC, vendors, and trade partners, clear, consistent coordination was essential to keeping everyone aligned and moving forward together.

In the end, what the client valued most was our commitment and communication. At Bergman Construction, that’s what we strive to deliver on every project, building not just structures, but trust, relationships, and long-term value.

We’ve had the privilege of partnering with Ono Hawaiian BBQ on restaurant locations across the state of California, with many of them being ground-up builds, just like this exciting new project in Anaheim. From Los Angeles to Riverside, each location brings its own unique character, opportunities, and challenges, and we’re proud to continue supporting Ono’s growth with quality construction that reflects their vibrant brand.

Now underway in Anaheim, this 2,350 sq-ft ground-up build complete with a 375 sq-ft patio has seen meaningful progress throughout the month of July. Led by Project Manager Terry Ng and Superintendent Greg Weeger, our team has been advancing steadily through key milestones.

Glass installation was completed during the week of July 21st, and interior wall board installation began on July 30th.

As we enter August, work continues with underground exterior electrical conduit installation and the start of plastering work. We're on track for a September completion, and we look forward to seeing this space come to life in its final form.

Here at Bergman, we’re driven by our clients’ visions and passionate about helping them achieve their goals. We’re currently in the process of transforming what was once a paved parking lot in Anaheim, California into a 2,400 square foot ONO Hawaiian BBQ restaurant.

Since its founding in 2002, Ono has established numerous locations throughout California and Arizona, bringing the welcoming “Aloha” spirit to each one. This project aims to support Ono Hawaiin BBQ’s mission of delivering exceptional service in a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Construction kicked off in early April and is expected to wrap up by the end of September. The total development area, including the restaurant itself, spans approximately 18,000 sq-ft. Our scope of work includes constructing a brand-new building from the ground up, complete with a drive through, new walls, ceilings and finishes, as well as installation of new equipment, RTUs, and kitchen hoods. The remaining area will be fully redeveloped with updated landscaping and utility services.

So far, our team— including Project Manager, Terry Ng and Superintendent, Greg Weeger from our sister company, KPRS — has made headway in significant construction elements. This includes demolition, grading, utilities, and building envelope work. We’ve also begun interior work and are excited to move forward with restrooms, prep area, kitchen, continued roof work, and upcoming sitework.

Some of the detailed work completed so far includes under-slab MEP, temporary power, utility connections within 5 feet of the building, rebar and anchor bolts per plan, wood wall framing, rough plumbing and electrical, installation of structural steel trellis, tapered foam crickets and TPO roofing, and roof framing. On the interior, we’ve completed rough MEPF, passed several inspections, and installed floor drains. We look forward to completing all painting and site work, drywall, and tape in the next few months.

As we move through the final stages of construction, we remain focused on delivering a high-quality space that reflects both our client’s vision and our team’s commitment to excellence. Stay tuned for more updates as we head toward completion this fall!
